Prairie Companions

I was instantly attracted to this little boy named Quirt with his team of oxen at “The Artist's Ride”, a professional photo shoot in South Dakota. I loved the harmony and mutual trust he had with Smokey and Hayden. I chose to do this painting of Quirt with one of the oxen, Hayden, just hanging out for a rest period from the hot summer sun.
